FAQ

Who are you?

The Rabbit Hole is home to the Midnight Rebels; a collective of creative people who are just tryin' to make a fun little corner to enjoy. Founded by Anna Sparkes after she was officially done with everything tedious and pedantic in the world.

The studio is constantly evolving and is currently in PHASE 2. Phase 2's main shining star is the Murder Mystery cafe, CSI: Norwich, running most weekends.

‘And how many phases are there?’, I hear you ask. Well, at least four, with the final mission being to overthrow the education system or something like that.

Where are you?

Unit 9 Drayton Industrial Estate, Drayton, Norwich, NR8 6RL. Basically, off the Fakenham Road, near Applegreen and past SESMA. And surprisingly enough, we're next to Unit 8 (Swallowtail) and Unit 10 (Elec-tech) but you won't believe how many people struggle with that so don't worry if you get confused the first time.

What do you do here?

Whatever we want. But current events are on the other pages, socials and at:

MIDNIGHTREBELS.EVENTBRITE.COM

Can I come?

Yes (unless you're a d***). Or one of Anna’s mortal enemies. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID, JULIA.

We only ask that you keep it a judgement-free zone and understand that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and that’s life.

What are you rebelling against?

Lots of things but mostly, the systems that are in place that make us feel bad about our bodies, our lives, our abilities... We're rebelling against loneliness and against toxic work culture. We're rebelling against generational trauma. And judgements. But NOT about pineapple on pizza. Why do people who don’t like it make it their whole personalities?

What if I want something different?

Of course you do. The short answer is we're really flexible and accommodating. We can negotiate and even provide space for your own groups and projects. But if something isn't perfectly catered to you, maybe just say 'ok, that's not for me' and move on.

what’s up

Midnight Rebels believe that there's more to life than just working and sleeping.

Wellbeing and positive mental health aren't just things on a ticklist, they have to be woven into your way of life. After a prolonged illness caused by severe burnout, Midnight Rebel founder Anna, found that human connection, art and taking risks were absolutely integral to recovery.

We know finding friends and trying new things is scary but The Rabbit Hole is the place to do it. We want people to find their people. Whether it's playing games, learning a new craft, having a coffee or creating together, there are lots of things to explore.

Can't find anything you're interested in?

We have multiple spaces available to start your own group, just like local rebel Pete did. Pete reached out seeking some people to casually play ukulele with and one Facebook post later, he had organised a group of 20 from all ages and The Midnight Rebels were more than happy to host.

One year later and dozens of people have picked up playing the ukulele, we’ve had another more advanced group form as an offshoot of what we started and we’ve performed in front of a few crowds too!

Some members have even joined a band and are currently taking bookings for a local tour.

You never know where that first step will take you.

Evenings

Hey there! Our groups are all pretty laid-back and flexible around here—no need to sign your life away with a commitment or anything. We're all about keeping the vibe social and chill, so you can just relax, meet some cool folks, and enjoy. And hey, when you pop by, all we ask is for a small contribution to the pot. It’s just our little way of keeping things running smoothly. So, message first or just turn up. You’re welcome either way.

Education

school age

Watching a child feeling bad about themselves is the worst.

What we offer:

  • Informal assessment sessions where you get advice from an expert in education.
  • Home-ed room hire for study groups at a greatly reduced cost.
  • Tutoring. 1-1 sessions in all core subjects, including coping skills.
  • Group tutoring in language, the arts, humanities or sciences by request.

adults

What did you LOVE learning at school? Do you miss painting, music, performing, making friends...?

We believe that learning is lifelong and re-discovering the things you loved as a child, brings an unmatchable sense of wellbeing.

We have groups already running but we’re DESPERATE for others to come and share their skills.

In one year, where could you be?

activism

The school system has failed several generations.

We have grown adults thinking that they’re stupid all because of what they were told as children. Four-year-olds being categorised as ‘behind’ is a moral disgrace. Children with SEND needs are still being treated as ‘less than’.

The curriculum is stuck in the past, teachers are overworked and assessment against narrow criteria is damaging.

If you are interested in changing the system, let’s get together and break the chain.

venue hire

Whether you are looking to host a new club, a private party or a one-off event, we have plenty of options for hire.

If you are a local person looking to start a class or club, there are opportunities for you to use space for free until you build up a regular crowd, just message to discuss ideas and time slots.

where are you?!

Ok, so although Anna is very patient, kind and empathetic, she gets really wound up by this question or the phrase ‘I couldn’t find where you were’ so for her peace of mind, here are some directions.

Remember, nobody is perfect so please ignore the passive aggression in the following instructions. She’s usually very chilled...

what is a pigeon person?

It's a long story but we're happy to tell it over a coffee. It has almost nothing to do with actual pigeons though.
